Star Wars Day – May 4th

Star wars collectibles would seem to be a hot commodity. However, in researching over 1,100 lots that have come to auction this year, better than 50% FAILED TO SELL. That’s a lot! Other than a pinball machine ($3,600 in February), the highest “collectible” to sell was a set of action figures with an original display stand at $1,800.

Over the past several years the highest selling pieces seemed to have been Blister Packed Action Figures that have been graded and or encased by either #ActionFigureAuthority or Collector Archive Services. These pieces can bring from the high 3 figure to the mid 5 figure dollar amounts!

There are many variations, so do your homework and seek out an experienced Star Wars expert and auction house. It looks like it may even pay to have your pieces graded and encapsulated by an authentication company. But overall it doesn’t look like you will get much of a return. ?
